Dive into SEO #5: key factors for on page SEO
From the last blog article, we mentioned the difference between on-page SEO and off-page SEO. Today, we can have a deep look at on page SEO, as it’s major part that requires quite a bit work.
As we already know, the following key points are what we need to focus:
– keywords: the old fasion of the searching keywords.
– Meta description: in summary, it’s the description of your page.
– Alt text: the descriptive text for your images and videos etc.
– Title Tag: the heading text that appears in your browser tab.
– URL Structure: the way of organising the url (web address) of your page
– Internal Linking: this is very important, but many people ignored. it’s a *guide* for google’s crawler to get the linked content on your website. It will also keep the visitor to stay on your website longer.
– Page Performance: the load speed of your website.
but which one do we need to do more in order into get a higher page ranking? which means how importan your website is amoung all other websites. Mathematical PageRanks for a simple network are expressed as percentages. (Google uses a logarithmic scale.)
An ideal web page should do all of the following:
- Be hyper-relevant to a specific topic (usually a product or single object)
- Include subject in title tag
- Include subject in URL
- Include subject in image alt text
- Specify subject several times throughout text content
- Provide unique content about a given subject
- Link back to its category page
- Link back to its subcategory page (If applicable)
- Link back to its homepage (normally accomplished with an image link showing the website logo on the top left of a page)
